LinkedIn Introduces New Tool For Job Search
LinkedIn has created a new tool that allows you to find the top sought-after skills employers are looking for in candidates for nearly any job position.
Additionally, if there is a skill that you lack, the tool will divert you to materials available for building up that skill.
The data, which is named “Future of Skills” will show you how conditions for jobs have transformed from 2015 to 2021.
According to a recent LinkedIn analysis, top priority skills for a specific role have changed by 25% from 2015 to today and may increase to be changed to 40% by 2025.
Below are instructions on how to use LinkedIn’s new tool to find the skills required to become a candidate that stands out when applying for your next job.
On the other hand, this tool can be useful for keeping your skillset upgraded, thereby increasing your value in your current role.
LinkedIn’s Future of Skills Tool
To start, go to the Future Of Skills tool and scroll all the way down until you get to the section that has the heading ‘Explore The Data.’
You can search for top skills required by industry or by job title, and then you can sift through the results by country.
The tool will give you a list of the top skills required today, with a comparison of the top skills that were required in 2015.
You will also get an analysis of:
- How much the top skills have changed
- How many of the top skills are new
- How many of the top skills are the same
- Which top skills increased or decreased in importance
The skills required will be marked as new. This means that more employers are looking for candidates who have those skills.
Let’s say you don’t have all the required skills. What you can do now is click on a skill that you want to learn about, and LinkedIn will take you to a section of relevant learning courses.
LinkedIn provides a one month free trial to all users to take benefit from any and all learning courses available. After that, there’s a monthly fee to access the courses, or you can pay for a single course and access it any time later.
